Many lean into mid-century modern design elements to some degree, but the rest of the population have yet to meet the Uptown Collection, our latest addition to the Cortney’s Collection family of multi-functional furniture. We created this collection with everyone in mind, including the busiest of families. As a world traveler, entrepreneur and mom of seven, I believe in empowering every family to design a home they love without sacrificing style or quality.

Uptown Collection Inspiration from the City That Never Sleeps
We can all imagine the buzz and bustle, sights and sounds and energizing tingle of being somewhere so iconic and rich in history as uptown New York City, but our family is lucky enough to call NYC home.
Time Period
Much of the world shares my love of mid-century modern design, but try to picture the understated elegance of the period in its glory days. Reel back to New York City in the middle of the nineteenth century, and walk your mind’s eye through the shops, hotels, galleries and dining establishments. Peek into the homes styled after them. Thanks to innate longevity and active historical preservation, much of the mid-century architecture and artifacts are still here today.
The Streets of New York City
Strolling uptown New York City is how I found much of my inspiration for the Uptown Collection. My love of chic, modern and vintage styles ensures continual discoveries of new ways to pull ideas from top designs of the past to create pieces with a fresh take for today and beyond — for my family and yours.

The Uptown Collection is sleek and approachable with a sophisticated look. When producing this collection, I was leaning towards a little more sophistication. I felt dressier when putting this together, and the collection reflects that. No matter who you are, there are definitely moments when you want to put on a cocktail dress. These pieces will glam up any space they’re in, adding effortless elegance to any home.
Get Down With The Uptown Gotham Power Motion Recliner
Quite possibly, the only chair better than a recliner is a power recliner.
